Manchester United has agreed a deal to sign Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba, according to reports in the English media.
Michael Carrick’s side is said to have had a 70 million-pound bid accepted for the Cameroonian, a year after walking away from a 100 million-plus-pound transfer.
The 22-year-old will reportedly have his medical on Saturday.
Baleba joined Brighton from Lille in 2023 and quickly established himself as one of the league’s best defensive midfielders. Despite a downturn in form in the 2025/26 season, the Red Devils have roped in the young midfielder to complete their midfield rebuild.
United has also completed the signings of Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa. The three new midfielders will look to fill the void in the centre of the park following Casemiro’s departure and Manuel Ugarte’s long-term injury.
Carrick’s team will get its Premier League season underway at newly-promoted Hull City on Saturday.
