Manipur Legislature will review the water supply and development project.

Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his official residence in New Delhi on Wednesday. Various issues related to the state were discussed in the meeting.

According to the Chief Minister's Secretariat, Amit Shah listened to the issues related to Manipur and assured that the Central Government will do its best to fulfill the wishes and aspirations of the people of the state.

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh said that Amit Shah will visit Manipur in the first week of October. During his visit, he will inaugurate the proposed new medical college in Senapati district and will also review the ongoing development projects in the state.

According to the Chief Minister, Shah has given consent for the foundation of the Medical College. According to the Chief Minister's Secretariat, the establishment of a medical college will be established in Senapati district as soon as it is approved by the state cabinet.

The proposed medical college will be established in Senapati district. There is a large population of Naga community in the district.

According to the Chief Minister's Office, Amit Shah will also review development projects other than Manipur Medical College. The detailed list of which projects will be reviewed has not yet been made public.

During the meeting, Amit Shah praised the resumption of Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati bus service. The state government would have restarted the inter-state public transport service on August 21, only after a gap of about three years.

According to government and local reports, a total of 125 passengers boarded two buses and five winger vehicles on the first day or route. The sensitive refugees like Kangpokpi and Senapati reached Guwahati via Nagaland.

Amit Shah praised the efforts made by the state government to restart the free movement of people on National Highway-2. NH-2 is the road connecting Manipur, Nagaland and further to Assam.

After the ethnic conflict that started in 2023, public transport on the Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati route would have been affected. After about three years the bus service was started again.

After the resumption of daily bus service on August 21, 125 passengers would have traveled from Imphal to Guwahati.

Amit Shah is going to review only other development projects in Manipur during his visit in October. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh said that the Central Government will provide utmost cooperation in the field of development of the state.

Projects related to health, transportation and infrastructure are being implemented in the state. Review or review of the maintenance and development plan of the medical college as part of the process.

Social, economic and transport systems have been affected due to violence in Manipur in the last few years. The challenge to restore normal life remains before the state government.

Resumption of bus services and restoration of free traffic on NH-2 are part of the efforts. The government is gradually normalizing public transport and inter-district connectivity.
