Manoj Muntashir:These days there is a debate on social media regarding the songs of the film ‘Ramayana’. People are getting mixed reactions about the songs of this film composed with the music of AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. Meanwhile, the songs of the film ‘Adipurush’, released in the year 2023, are being compared with the songs of Ramayana. Manoj Muntashir, who wrote the dialogues and songs of Adipurush, has given his reaction on this. He defended the songs of the film, saying that there was no dearth of devotion, dedication and poetry in his songs.
Manoj Muntashir replied to his critics
Manoj Muntashir expressed his views while sharing a news on X. In this news, there was mention of criticism regarding the song ‘Mangal Rang’ of Ramayana and being reminded of the controversial scene of Adipurush. Manoj expressed his displeasure over this and criticized the news.
they wrote- “I wish my exploits were repeated in the songs of Ramayana… Adipurush was a very bad film, the dialogues were even worse, but every child of the country sings the song. Go to Shri Ayodhya Puri sometime, the songs of Adipurush are being played in every street.”
‘I did not write qawwali for Ram’: Manoj
He further wrote- I have apologized to Ram devotees countless times for the mistake I committed and have received forgiveness, but do not challenge the songs. There was no dearth of devotion, dedication and poetry in him. Neither did I write nursery rhymes nor qawwalis for Ram… People in front are intelligent, they know who is worth so much.”
Adipurush was surrounded by controversies
Director Om Raut’s film Adipurush was released in theaters in the year 2023. In this, Prabhas played the role of Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon played the role of Mother Sita and Saif Ali Khan played the role of Ravana. The music of the film was composed by Ajay-Atul.
Made on a huge budget of around Rs 550 crore, the film had initially earned well, but its earnings were affected due to poor reviews and negative reactions from the audience. There was a lot of controversy regarding the film’s dialogues, portrayal of characters and Ravana’s appearance.
Amidst the questions raised regarding the film, its producers and writers had to face criticism. Manoj Muntashir had reacted to the controversy at that time too and later apologized for his mistakes.
How are the preparations for the new Ramayana?
Director Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film Ramayana is being made in two parts. Namit Malhotra is its producer. In the film, Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi is playing the role of Mata Sita and Yash is playing the role of Ravana.
AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer have handled the music of this film. The first part of the film is planned to be released in theaters worldwide on 5 November 2026, while the second part is scheduled to release around Diwali 2027.
