Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil has found himself at the center of social media criticism following remarks made during promotional events for his upcoming Telugu film Don’t Trouble The Trouble in Chennai.
While praising his young co-star Ssara Palekar, Fahadh made an offhand joke about his marriage to actress Nazriya Nazim, referring to himself as being “married to a child”.
What Fahadh Said at the Promotional Event
While discussing his rapport with child actor Ssara Palekar on set, Fahadh shared a lighthearted joke about his patience with children:
”So, I’m married to a child. People ask me, your child management patience is great. So, I said, I have one at home. I’ve been dealing with that. But I met a child who dealt with me.”
He went on to express appreciation for Ssara, noting how she frequently helped him memorize and correct his lines during production, calling her his favorite co-star to date.

Clips of the promotional event quickly circulated across platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, sparking mixed reactions and criticism from netizens due to the couple’s 13-year age gap.

A Look at Their Decade-Long Marriage
Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim first worked together on Anjali Menon’s hit ensemble film Bangalore Days (2014), where they played a married couple. The duo got engaged during production and married in August 2014 in Thiruvananthapuram. At the time of their marriage, Fahadh was 32 and Nazriya was 19.
Despite keeping their personal lives private over the years, their age gap has occasionally resurfaced in online discussions. The couple previously reunited on screen for Trance (2020) and continue to co-produce projects under their production banner.
Fahadh’s upcoming film Don’t Trouble The Trouble is scheduled for theatrical release on October 2.
