The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is currently one of the best-selling crossover SUVs in the country. And now, to make sure that it remains on top of the top-selling cars list, Maruti Suzuki is now gearing up to the launch of the new facelifted iteration of the Fronx in India. So, without any delays, here are the five biggest changes that will be seen on the new Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift.
One of the biggest changes will be under the bonnet. Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce its new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine. The engine produces 81 bhp and 112 Nm in petrol guise, and the Z-Series CNG version produces 67 bhp and 101 Nm. The petrol engine is claimed to deliver 23.80 kmpl with the manual gearbox and 24.77 kmpl with the AMT. A CNG-AMT combination is also expected to arrive at a later date, which would be a first for Maruti Suzuki’s CNG range.
However, the 1.2-litre Z-Series engine is expected to replace the existing four-cylinder 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine and not the 1.0-litre Boosterjet. The Fronx test mule was seen with the Boosterjet and Smart Hybrid badges. The 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine produces 100 bhp and 146 Nm and gets a Smart Hybrid system with an Integrated Starter Generator and a small lithium-ion battery.
The facelifted Fronx is also expected to get ventilated front seats. Maruti Suzuki has already introduced this feature on the facelifted Baleno, and the same feature is expected to make its way to the Fronx. The exact variant on which ventilated seats will be available has not been revealed yet.
This will be a useful addition for the Fronx, especially considering the hot weather conditions across India. Along with the new engine and other updates, the feature could make the higher variants of the Fronx more competitive against newer models in the segment.
Another expected addition is a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). This feature has also been introduced with the updated Baleno and is expected to be carried over to the facelifted Fronx. TPMS monitors the air pressure in the tyres and alerts the driver if the pressure drops below the recommended level.
Now, even though it may not be a major visual change, it will add another safety and convenience feature to the Fronx. The exact variant availability of the TPMS has not been confirmed yet.
One of the biggest safety upgrades will be the addition of Level 2 ADAS. The test mules of the Fronx have been spotted with a radar sensor positioned below the Suzuki badge on the front grille. This means it will be getting an ADAS system. The expected system could include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and lane departure warning.
It will also get blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alerts are also possible. However, the exact feature list has not been confirmed. The updated Baleno gets Level 2 ADAS on its top-spec Alpha (O) variant, and the Fronx could also get the same on the new Alpha (O) variant.

The facelift will also bring changes to the Fronx’s exterior, more specifically at the front. The latest test images show a new gloss-black grille with chunkier U-shaped elements. Meanwhile, the Boosterjet version gets red detailing on some of these elements. The current silver garnish across the grille is expected to be replaced by a gunmetal grey connecting element. This will give the front a slightly different appearance.
The front bumper is also expected to be redesigned and could get a more aggressive silver skid plate. Meanwhile, the lower air intake will be largely similar to the current model. At the rear, the connected LED tail lamps appear to continue, but the bumper gets a new design. The overall coupe-SUV silhouette is expected to remain familiar, with the facelift focusing mainly on the front-end styling and equipment.
What is interesting is that the latest test mule does not show any clear signs of the much-talked-about series-hybrid powertrain. This system is expected to use the petrol engine mainly as a generator, with an electric motor driving the wheels. Reports have suggested a mileage figure of around 35 kmpl. But it has been reported that the powertrain could arrive later rather than with the initial facelift.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx facelift is expected to launch in India in the coming months, and it could reach Indian showrooms in the early months of 2027. It has also been highlighted that although the lower variants could remain close to the current pricing, the top variants could become around Rs 1 lakh more expensive due to the additional equipment.
