Maruti Jimny Topples 3 Times: Keeps Occupants Safe, Remains Driveable [Video]
Maruti Jimny has been on sale in India since June 2023. Over the years, it has reached the garages of many off-roading enthusiasts. We have also come across various tasteful builds based on the Jimny, including some insane off-road-focussed ones. Now, a video has surfaced online showing a Jimny toppling thrice while off-roading and still keeping its occupants safe.
This video was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Rattan Dhillon. It shows what looks like an off-roading event or competition. A Maruti Jimny is seen attempting a steep descent.
The slope looks steep, and the surface appears to be slippery. From the footage, it seems the Jimny began the descent at a higher speed than ideal. Midway through, the driver appears to have applied the brakes, which likely caused the wheels to lock and lose traction.
This resulted in a slide-down. It eventually toppled three times while rolling down the incline before coming to a complete halt. The entire sequence looks frightening. However, Dhillon says that despite the dramatic fall, the vehicle suffered very little damage. The lightweight nature and strong build quality seem to have saved the Jimny here.
In the video, we can see the driver driving it out of the ditch, even after the fall. It climbed back effortlessly. The video also shows the driver getting out, visibly unhurt and without having to break-open the door. He is visibly unhurt and the post further explains that the driver did not even have a scratch on him.

Dhillon’s post mentions that the SUV’s roof did not collapse, there was no leakage, and the ignition (and the engine) worked even after the rollover. The accident caused just body repairs to this vehicle. The post also talks about how good the Jimny is to drive, how capable it is, and more importantly, how reliable and safe it is.
Drawing a comparison, the post further says it is unsure if the Mahindra Thar would have survived such a fall. While that remains a debatable topic, the video has indeed showcased the sturdy build of the Jimny and is now racking up views online. His X handle also has videos showing a Jimny being driven on extreme off-road terrains.
