targets with ballistic missiles

Military officials say Russia fired about 6 to 8 modified S-400 or other ballistic missiles at Kiev. Due to the speed of these missiles, there is very little time for air defense systems to be activated and civilians to reach safe places. Kyiv Mayor ‘Vitaly Klitschko’ said that a massive fire broke out in warehouses in the Holosiivsky district of south Kyiv due to missiles falling on them. Many residential properties as well as vehicles have suffered heavy damage due to missile debris falling in Darnitsky district. It is being told that this attack has happened at a time when Ukraine is facing a severe shortage of interceptor missiles for its Patriot missile defense system. Because of this, it is becoming difficult to completely thwart these deadly ballistic attacks in the air.

strategic timing

According to sources, the attack came just after the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ of Ukraine’s allies met in Paris where strengthening anti-ballistic capabilities for Ukraine was discussed. However, Kiev authorities have put emergency services on alert and urged citizens to remain in shelters during the attacks.
