US-Iran War: UAE will break the Strait of Hormuz! New deep water port to be built with hundreds of millions of dollars amid US-Iran war; Supply will not stop in Gulf countries
The ongoing fierce military war between America and Iran (US-Iran War 2026) is not showing any sign of stopping. Due to this bloody attack and counter attack going on between the two superpowers, West Asia has been shaken and at present the main root of this entire war has become the dispute of control over the ‘Strait of Hormuz’. In view of the increasing attacks and threat of blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is now busy in finding a surefire and historic solution to this route. According to a recent report by the Financial Times, the UAE is making grand preparations to build a new deep water port on its eastern coast. The biggest feature of this new port will be that foreign commercial container and cargo ships will be able to enter the UAE border directly through the Gulf of Oman, without touching the dangerous route of the Strait of Hormuz. Dubai’s giant company ‘DP World’ will create history in Fujairah. The UAE government is putting all its strength to turn this strategically important project into reality: Fujairah will become a new hub: Dubai’s global logistics giant DP World will build this new port in Fujairah. Along with this, there is also a mega plan to build a new terminal at the existing port in Fujairah. Background of DP World: Established in 2005, DP World is a world leader in cargo logistics, port operations, maritime services and free trade zone operations. This company handles about 7 crore containers every year. Dubai’s famous ‘Jebel Ali’ port is its biggest flagship project, where more than 11,000 companies do business. The decision was taken after the Iranian attacks on Jebel Ali Port. UAE is also burning badly in the fire of US-Iran war that started in late February this year: Attack on American bases: To take revenge from America, Iran is continuously targeting those Gulf countries where American military bases are present. In this sequence, Iran had fired missiles and drones at American bases located in UAE. 90% work affected: Due to these attacks, West Asia’s largest and busiest container port ‘Jebel Ali’ was seriously damaged, due to which 90% work there came to a standstill. After this unprecedented crisis, DP World considered it essential to find safe alternative routes. How will the new project be and what is its complete route? Just like a wise investor invests his assets in diversified mutual funds to avoid market risk, similarly the UAE government is also investing heavily on this new route to reduce its business risk: 18 month target: According to the report, the agreement process between the UAE government and DP World is in the final stages and this new port will be completely ready within about 18 months. What will be the route: After construction of the new port, sea cargo will reach Fujairah directly via Gulf of Oman. There, the containers will be unloaded from the ships and transported through road network to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other Gulf countries in a very safe manner. Supporting Jebel Ali: DP World has clarified that Jebel Ali Port will continue to operate as before, this new port will not be its replacement but will act as a strong backup and supporting. Budget of hundreds of millions of dollars; Hormuz’s load will reduce. However, due to security and strategic reasons, DP World has not yet made public the exact details of the budget of this mega project, but defense and trade experts believe that this project will cost a huge amount of hundreds of millions of dollars. Since the start of the US-Iran war, the company has increased its use of east coast ports like Fujairah and Khor Fakkan. If this new deep water port becomes operational at full capacity, the global dependence on the Strait of Hormuz for international trade and the load there will be reduced to a great extent.
