We have a very exciting news, and that too about the film of 2026 which secretly came to the theaters and stole the show! Yes, we are talking about Travis Knight’s toy-inspired blockbuster ‘Masters of the Universe’. This film presents Mattel’s famous ‘He-Man’ toyline of the 80’s (and its related classic cartoon and the 1987 film with Dolph Lundgren) in a new way to today’s new generation.

What else is the news? Well, despite releasing in theaters just last month, Knight’s film is arriving on Prime Video this week, just in time for summer vacation!

Yes, you heard it right. ‘Masters of the Universe’ is going to officially stream on Prime Video on July 22. This means that viewers can now enjoy the exciting world of ‘Eternia’ from the comfort of their home. After a long wait of almost two decades, when this film of Amazon MGM Studios hit the theaters in June, it received an excellent response from both critics and fans. The audience liked the style of Nicholas Galitzine in the character of ‘Prince Adam’. Apart from this, the seriousness and humorous manner in which director Travis Knight and writer Chris Butler presented this fun and campy story was also highly appreciated.

But the sad thing is that this film, made with a huge budget of $170 million (about Rs 1400 crore), could not do wonders at the box office despite garnering praises. It collected only $113 million worldwide in its entire theatrical run.

Despite receiving praise and love from fans, ‘Masters of the Universe’, which lagged behind at the box office, is now the new hope for the streaming platform. It will be really interesting to see whether this second big film of Travis Knight based on toys after ‘Bumblebee’ (2018) becomes a hit on streaming or not.

Well, to be honest, this movie is a lot of fun, a colourful, carefree and highly entertaining science-fiction fantasy drama! We would not be surprised at all if this film creates a new history on OTT like films like ‘The Fall Guy’, ‘The Suicide Squad’ and ‘Mortal Kombat’.
