Maulana Arshad Madani said in Jamiat meeting – ‘Islam will remain alive till doomsday’
Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani has said big things on the situation in the country in the 2-day meeting of the Working Committee of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind. Maulana Arshad Madani said that the politics of hatred has now been replaced by the politics of threat and fear. Its purpose is only to scare the Muslims and make them realize that now they will have to live life with conditions in this country and those who do not do so will be put in jail. He said that in order to gain power, some people are playing dangerously with the peace, unity and brotherhood of the country.
He said that the situation has become so explosive that venom is being spewed everywhere and Muslims are being insulted. The election code of conduct was openly flouted in West Bengal and Assam. Muslims were publicly threatened. This series of threats continues even after winning the elections. He said that a newly elected Chief Minister saying that Muslims did not vote for us, hence we will not do their work, is like making fun of both the Constitution and democracy.
Maulana Madani said that the rulers have made the politics of fear and intimidation their method, whereas the governments run not on fear but on justice and equity. He termed the newly elected Chief Minister of West Bengal’s alleged statement “I will work only for Hindus” as a symbol of hatred and religious fanaticism.
He said that every Chief Minister takes an oath with God as his witness that he will do justice to all sections of the society as per the Constitution and law without any fear, favour, love or enmity. Without this oath, no person can become the Chief Minister nor has the moral right to hold that post.
He said that through a notification the controversial song Vande Mataram has been declared as the national anthem and it is also being made mandatory in BJP ruled states. On the other hand, mosques, mausoleums and madrassas are being demolished as illegal. New orders are being issued every day against madrassas, as if they are centers of illegal activities and not educational institutions.
He said that our legal fight against the Uniform Civil Code continues. Now a legal battle will be fought against making Vande Mataram mandatory, because this song is against our religious beliefs.
The Central Working Committee of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind has completely rejected the decision of the Central Government, under which it has been declared necessary to give Vande Mataram equal status to the national anthem “Jana Gana Mana”, make all its six bandhs mandatory and recite it before “Jana Gana Mana” in the programs of all government and educational institutions.
Maulana Arshad Madani expressed serious concern over the campaign to disenfranchise genuine citizens under the guise of SIR, saying that it is not only SIR but NRC, through which Muslims are being targeted in many states. Giving the example of West Bengal, he said that declaring 27 lakh voters as doubtful and depriving them of the right to vote is a black spot on democracy. According to reports, these 27 lakh people include a large number of Muslims.
He said that the third phase of SIR has also been announced, hence Muslims need to be extremely aware and alert. All necessary documents should be kept ready in advance. He said that the purpose of this entire process is not to correct the voter lists but to weaken the Muslim vote. Before that governments are also responsible for these circumstances.
They also tried to harm Muslims socially, educationally, politically and economically. He further said that communal riots continued to happen earlier also, but a big difference between then and now is that earlier Muslims were the target, whereas now Islam is being targeted.
He said that the new laws that were brought after 2014 or are being brought now are an open proof that the present government wants to harm not only Muslims but also Islam. He said that all this is happening not only in India but also at the global level. The speed with which Islam is spreading throughout the world has frightened the anti-Islamic forces. For this reason, propaganda against Islam is being carried out at every level so that its image can be tarnished.
Maulana Madani said that Islam is a heavenly religion. Those who destroyed it themselves were destroyed but Islam remained alive and will remain alive till the Doomsday. Giving the example of former Soviet Russia, he said that for years there was an attempt to eliminate Islam by promoting communism.
Restrictions were imposed on mosques and madrassas, even the sound of Azaan did not come from mosques for years, but the world saw that Soviet Russia itself disintegrated and many Muslim countries came into existence from its debris. Despite all the atrocities and oppression, both Islam and Muslims survived.
He said that the Indian Muslim is a patriotic citizen and an equal partner in the country’s progress. His patriotism was always questioned, but in every difficult time he proved through his conduct and deeds that he is a true patriot.
He said that rights have been given to Muslims not by any government but by the Constitution of the country and as long as the Constitution remains in place, Muslims will continue to live as a respectable and patriotic citizen in this country. Under no circumstances can he accept being a second class citizen.
Maulana Madani said that the Working Committee of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind appeals to all the justice-loving forces and patriotic citizens of the country that instead of reaction and emotional politics, they should unite and fight the extremist and fascist forces at the political and social level and make every possible effort to establish brotherhood, mutual tolerance and justice in the country.
