Mega Block : 5-hour mega block on Central and Trans-Harbour routes on Sundays; Night Jumbo Block on Western Railway
Mega Block : Sunday is likely to be a busy day for commuters of local trains, the lifeline of travel for Mumbaikars. 26th July 2026 (Sunday) for track repair, signal system maintenance and various engineering works as per Railway Administration. A 5-hour mega block will be conducted on the Central and Trans-Harbour Railway lines on However, the passengers of Western Railway will get relief during the day and a jumbo block has been announced on this route on Saturday midnight.
Central Railway; Express trains delayed between Thane-Kalyan
A 5-hour mega block will be conducted between Thane to Kalyan stations on the main line of Central Railway from 10:40 AM to 3:40 PM. During this block period, all Down and Up express local trains departing and arriving from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) will be diverted to the slow route between Thane and Kalyan. As the trains will be running on slow routes, they will generally run 15 to 20 minutes late than their scheduled time. Commuters will be affected not only during the day, but also on Saturday midnight on the main route. 1:10 PM to 3:40 AM on Saturday for installation of footbridge girders at Mulund station There will be a special block. Trans-harbour route; Thane to Vashi/Nerul services completely stopped
Commuters on the Trans-Harbour route connecting Navi Mumbai to Thane will be hit hard by the block. A 5 hour block has been declared here from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm. All local trains running between Thane to Vashi and Thane to Nerul/Belapur will remain completely closed during the block period. Western Railway; Comfort by day, jumbo block by night
The good news for Western Railway passengers is that there will be no block during the day on Sunday. However, between Mumbai Central to Mahim station from 12:25 midnight on Saturday to 4:25 am on Sunday. A jumbo block of 4 hours will be conducted. The number of local flights will be limited due to Sunday holiday block. Therefore, there is a possibility of heavy rush of passengers at the stations and in the available local trains.
