Mega blood donation program at Tyagaraja Stadium, policemen from ACP to constable participated enthusiastically

New Delhi: The duty of the uniform is not only to maintain law and order but also to stand with humanity in times of need. A similar scene was seen at Tyagraj Stadium in Delhi on Thursday, when 391 policemen of Delhi Police set an example of social service by donating blood. Policemen posted in different districts and units, from ACP to constable, donated blood voluntarily.

A mega blood donation program was organized by the Delhi Government on 17 September 2026 from 8 am to 5 pm at Thyagaraj Stadium. The program was inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in the presence of Cabinet members of Delhi Government.

The Delhi Police personnel who arrived to donate blood also showed a glimpse of their human face amid the strictness of their duty. Some donated blood for the first time while others donated blood with the resolve to save the lives of needy patients. The enthusiasm of the policemen in the program was palpable.

Chief Minister boosted the morale of the soldiers

In view of the commendable contribution of Delhi Police, many policemen were invited on the stage. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta appreciated his contribution by presenting him a blood donor certificate. Delhi Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh also praised the contribution of Delhi Police in the blood donation campaign. He appreciated the enthusiasm, dedication and sense of social responsibility of the policemen. The mega blood donation program once again gave the message that khaki is not just a uniform to take action against criminals but is also a force to be reckoned with to protect the lives of the needy. The blood donation of 391 policemen further strengthened the resolve of 'public service' with drops of blood.
