Tezzbuzz Desk – Poster politics has intensified on the occasion of Diwali in Uttar Pradesh. Different political messages were seen in the posters of BJP and Samajwadi Party in the capital Lucknow. On one hand, the poster of Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak gave the message of crime and fear-free Diwali, while on the other hand, the poster put up outside the Samajwadi Party office showed an attempt to connect the upper caste community with the PDA keeping in mind the 2027 assembly elections.
On the occasion of Chhoti Diwali, a congratulatory poster was put up by Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak at Hazratganj intersection in Lucknow. This poster has been put up next to the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. It is written on the poster – “Warm wishes for a crime and fear free Diwali.”
This poster, which gives the message of crime and fear-free environment along with Diwali wishes, is being linked to the issue of law and order. This message of Brajesh Pathak is being discussed in the capital.
Message of connecting the upper caste community in SP's poster
At the same time, the poster outside the Samajwadi Party office directly points towards the election equations of 2027. It is written on the poster – “Swarna Samaj will want, PDA will make CM.” Through this slogan, an appeal has been made to make Akhilesh Yadav the Chief Minister once again.
In the poster, an attempt is seen to link the Golden Society, especially the upper class including Brahmins, with the PDA. This message of SP is being seen as a strategy to solve caste and social equations before the 2027 assembly elections.
Effort to connect upper caste community with PDA
Samajwadi Party seems to be trying to broaden its social base by giving the message of connecting the upper caste community with PDA i.e. backward, Dalit and minority classes. This could also be an exercise to reach out to the sections considered traditional supporters of BJP.
This poster, which came out on the occasion of Diwali, has intensified the discussion regarding social equations in the politics of UP. On one hand, the message of law and order came from BJP, while on the other hand, SP gave its political message through posters regarding the Chief Minister's chair and social alliance.
Preparation for 2027 seen in Diwali posters
Amidst the wishes of Diwali, these posters put up in Lucknow have indicated that the battle of political messages regarding the 2027 assembly elections has already started. One poster talks about crime and fear-free environment, while the other gives the message of returning to power by associating the upper caste community with PDA.
Now political eyes are on how much impact the Samajwadi Party's move of linking the upper caste community with the PDA will have in the 2027 elections and how much of a challenge this strategy poses for the BJP.
