Meteorological Department’s alert issued, warning messages being sent on mobile phones

Thakurdwara. In many districts of Western Uttar Pradesh, the weather department and administration are seen on alert mode amid warnings of strong storm, heavy rain and thunder. To alert people, alert messages are continuously being issued on mobile phones. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of strong thunderstorm and heavy rain in some areas of Bareilly, Bijnor, Lakhimpur Kheri, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Pilibhit, Rampur, Saharanpur and Shamli during the next 24 hours.

The wind speed can reach 80 to 90 kilometers per hour, while at some places it is expected to reach 100 kilometers per hour. In view of the possible danger, weather alert messages are being sent to people’s mobile phones, appealing to be cautious during bad weather.

The administration has advised people to stay away from open spaces, trees and weak buildings and to come out of their homes only when necessary. Farmers have also been instructed to ensure the safety of their crops and animals. The electricity department and disaster management teams have also been alerted to deal with possible emergencies.
