Opener Sanju Samson performed brilliantly for CSK in batting. He scored unbeaten 101 runs in 54 balls, which included 10 fours and 6 sixes. This is his second century in IPL 2026. Samson adopted an aggressive approach from the beginning and did not give any chance to the Mumbai bowlers. Thanks to his innings, Chennai scored 200+.

sanju samson Apart from this, Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 22 runs, while Dewald Brevis played a useful inning of 21 runs. Both the batsmen provided good support to Samson, due to which the team could reach a strong position. Although the rest of the batsmen could not play big innings, but kept adding runs at important times.
Mumbai Indians bowling
Mumbai Indians bowlers could not leave much impact in this match. Ghazanfar and Ashwin Kumar certainly took 2 wickets each, but were not successful in stopping the runs. Whereas Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell Santner got 1-1 wicket. Chennai batsmen set a big target for Mumbai by scoring 207 runs in 20 overs. Akil Hussain made a comeback in bowling
Spin bowler Akil Hussain performed brilliantly for Chennai in this match. In the very first over he Mumbai Indians Made his intentions clear by giving the first blow. After that, MI batsmen kept getting out at regular intervals. Akin Hussain took 4 wickets by spending only 17 runs in 4 overs. Apart from this, Noor Ahmed took two wickets in back to back fashion. Disappointing performance of Mumbai batsmen
