Delhi government minister Pravesh Verma is in controversy regarding the slapping incident. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has shared a video, in which Pravesh Verma is seen slapping a young man. AAP alleges that the minister slapped the youth after he asked him questions. However, the audio of the conversation between Parvesh Verma and AAP MLA Jarnail Singh in the video that surfaced is not clear.
How did the matter reach the point of slapping?
Actually, Pravesh Verma had come to inspect the road construction work in Tilak Nagar area. During this time, local AAP MLA Jarnail Singh was also present at the spot along with his supporters. There was an argument between the two parties regarding the quality of the road. After this, the AAP workers present at the spot started creating ruckus.
Meanwhile, a young man who looked after Jarnail Singh's social media work came in front of Pravesh Verma and started making a video. After this, in the viral video, Pravesh Verma can be seen slapping the young man. However, what conversation took place between the two just before the slap is not clear from the audio of the video.
Pravesh Verma's clarification on slapping incident
Minister Pravesh Verma's statement has come out on the slapping incident. Pravesh Verma said that I had gone to Tilak Nagar for road inspection. AAP MLA Janrail Singh reached there with his workers. Then, AAP workers manhandled me and abused my family. Besides, Pravesh Verma has also accused the AAP MLA of demanding commission. Regarding this incident, Minister Pravesh Verma posted a video on X, in the caption of which he wrote that listen to the whole truth behind today's incident, but what happened should not have happened.
Kejriwal demanded arrest of the minister
Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also posted on this controversy, in which it is written, 'Arrest the minister. I will go here tomorrow. Earlier, AAP had created an uproar against Pravesh Verma for calling Atishi 'brother' in the Delhi Assembly. Then Marshal took out the MLAs. Amidst the uproar, Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta had thrown three AAP MLAs out of the House.
