Mivi One 5G Gets Care+ With 7-Day Replacement Before India Launch

Ahead of the September 24 launch of the Mivi One 5G, the Indian electronics brand has announced Mivi Care+, an after-sales program built around warranty support, service access and a seven-day replacement promise. Mivi says the program will include a one-year warranty, access to more than 500 service centers across India, and a dedicated app for managing support requests.

The timing is significant. Mivi already has an established presence in audio products, but the One 5G is its first smartphone.

Mivi Care+ Puts the Seven-Day Replacement Promise Front and Center

The most notable part of the announcement is Mivi’s “Replaced, not repaired” promise for the first seven days. According to the company’s announcement, the Mivi One 5G will come with a seven-day replacement period alongside a complimentary one-year standard warranty.

That distinction matters because the phrase can easily be interpreted more broadly than Mivi’s actual policy. Mivi has not yet detailed all eligibility conditions for the seven-day replacement period, so it should not be interpreted as unconditional replacement for every issue.

Mivi’s published warranty guidelines state that warranty service is limited to repair or replacement at the company’s discretion. The same documentation describes a process involving troubleshooting, reverse pickup, testing, and repair or replacement depending on the outcome. In other words, the seven-day replacement window is a specific early-period benefit, while the standard warranty continues beyond it under Mivi’s broader service terms.

What Happens After the Seven Days?

The distinction becomes particularly important for anyone considering the One 5G as a long-term device. Mivi’s warranty documentation says customers can submit a warranty claim through its Help Center, after which the support team attempts to troubleshoot the problem. If the issue cannot be resolved remotely, Mivi can arrange pickup of the device for repair or replacement, subject to the applicable warranty conditions.

Mivi’s existing warranty documentation provides context for its standard post-purchase process, although One 5G-specific Care+ terms should be checked once published. It includes pickup, delivery to Mivi’s warehouse, testing and diagnosis, followed by repair or replacement depending on the manufacturing issue and applicable guidelines. Mivi says the repair process generally takes five to seven business days once the product reaches the testing stage, although the overall turnaround also depends on shipping and other stages.

Buyers still need to consider what happens if a problem appears weeks or months after purchase, when the standard warranty process is no longer in effect.

The Mivi Care+ App Is More Than a Warranty Page

Mivi is also building a dedicated software layer around its service operation. The Mivi Care+ is designed specifically for Mivi phones and supports functions including warranty activation, diagnostics, repair bookings, complaint handling and tracking of service requests. Mivi’s privacy documentation describes the app as the service and warranty application for its phones and says customers can use help articles, diagnostics and warranty checks without signing in.

For a smartphone launch, that is notable because after-sales support is often fragmented across websites, customer-care numbers and physical service locations. Mivi is attempting to put several of those functions behind a single service interface.

The company’s documentation also says that warranty activation on a Mivi Phone happens automatically after the Setup Wizard is completed. The system records handset information such as the IMEIs and serial number to associate the device with its warranty, while the app can also connect diagnostic reports and repair requests to the handset.

Doorstep Support Could Matter More Than the App

The other practical element is physical service access. Mivi says its Care+ program will provide access to more than 500 service centers across India, while current reporting on the launch also says the company plans free doorstep pickup and return service for the One 5G across more than 19,000 PIN codes.

That combination matters because having a service-center network and making customers physically visit those locations are two different experiences. A doorstep model can reduce the friction involved in initiating a warranty claim, particularly for customers who do not live close to an authorized center.

Mivi’s own warranty guidelines already describe reverse pickup as part of its service process, although they also note that availability can depend on the customer’s location. Mivi’s general warranty policy says customers may need to self-ship where reverse pickup is unavailable; whether Care+ changes that for One 5G buyers in covered PIN codes should be confirmed from the final phone-specific terms.

Why This Matters for Mivi’s First Smartphone

The One 5G is entering a market where consumers already have established smartphone brands to choose from. Mivi’s existing recognition comes largely from audio products, making the move into smartphones a considerably larger commitment. A phone can remain in a customer’s hands for several years, and issues involving displays, batteries, cameras, charging ports, or software can require a very different level of support from what an audio accessory typically needs.

A new smartphone brand has to convince consumers not only that the hardware is worth buying, but also that there is a functioning support system behind it.

Mivi says Care+ will provide access to more than 500 service centers across India, and Mivi Care+ therefore serves a broader purpose. They give potential buyers concrete information about what Mivi says will happen after the sale, even though the quality and speed of the actual service can only be properly assessed once customers begin using it.

The Mivi One 5G Is Still Mostly Under Wraps

Mivi Care+ arrives while several important details about the One 5G remain undisclosed.

Mivi has confirmed that the phone will launch in India on September 24, will be sold through Flipkart, and will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G chipset. The company has also revealed a dual rear-camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary camera, although the exact chipset variant and secondary camera specifications remain undisclosed. The phone is expected to target the sub-₹15,000 segment, but Mivi has not announced official pricing, and it will be available in three colors: burgundy, blue and green. It is targeted for a September 24 India launch on Flipkart exclusively.

Buyers will still need to see the final display, battery, processor variant, camera details, storage configurations and pricing before assessing the phone as a complete package.

Can Care+ Build Confidence Around the One 5G?

Mivi Care+ cannot, by itself, establish whether the One 5G will be a successful smartphone. That will depend on the hardware, software, pricing, and the experience customers have after launch. But it does address a genuine uncertainty surrounding a first-generation smartphone from a company better known for audio devices. Mivi is putting a defined replacement window, warranty coverage, service-center network, app-based support, and doorstep assistance into place before the phone even reaches buyers.

The most important detail is still the limitation: “Replaced, not repaired” applies to the seven-day replacement period, not the entire one-year warranty. Beyond that window, Mivi’s own warranty documentation makes clear that claims can be resolved through repair or replacement according to its service process and warranty conditions.

The One 5G will ultimately have to prove itself through its hardware and everyday performance, but Mivi is already trying to answer the question that follows every smartphone purchase: if something goes wrong, who is going to fix it, and how difficult will that be?
