According to reports, recharge plans of Jio, Airtel and Vi may become cheaper very soon. In view of the increasing pressure on the pockets of mobile users, the Central Government is preparing such a plan, after which the recharge plans of all companies can become cheaper. Actually, the government is planning to reduce the taxes and charges imposed on telecom companies, after which the prices of mobile recharge may reduce.
What is the government’s plan?
The government is considering a plan to reduce fees in the telecom sector to make mobile recharge cheaper. According to reports, discussions are going on in this direction at the level of Telecom Ministry and NITI Aayog. At present, telecom companies have to pay about 8 percent of their earnings as license fees and spectrum usage charges. The government is considering reducing this charge to about 3 to 4 percent.
Apart from this, about 5 percent of the amount included in the 8 percent fee goes to the government fund for increasing internet facilities in rural areas. The government already has a huge amount deposited in this fund. In such a situation, the option of stopping or reducing this recovery for some time is also being considered.
How much can customers benefit?
In fact, in July, Jio, Airtel and VI had increased mobile tariffs by about 15 to 25 percent. Due to this, many recharges of 28, 56 and 84 days became expensive. This especially affected rural and low-income mobile users. According to the information, companies can make some plans cheaper due to reduction in fees. However, no official news has come till now about how much reduction there will be in recharge.
