Shiv Shankar Savita- Political rhetoric regarding Nari Shakti Vandan Bill has intensified in Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna strongly attacked the opposition parties in a press conference. During the press conference, Khanna said that the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill is a historic step towards politically empowering the women of the country, but the opposition parties tried to stop it. He said that it is very unfortunate that when it comes to giving women their rights, the opposition starts playing politics.

Citing the statements of the Home Minister, he talked about increasing the seats by 50 percent.

Quoting Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement, Khanna said that the government had already made it clear that the seats would be increased by 50 percent to increase the participation of women. Despite this, the opposition tried to weaken the bill by raising unnecessary issues. He said that there is no provision for reservation on the basis of community anywhere in the Constitution, but Samajwadi Party is continuously trying to divert attention by raising the issue of Muslim women. According to Khanna, this is just an attempt to take political advantage, whereas the aim of the government is to provide equal opportunities to all women.

In the end he said that the central government under the leadership of Narendra Modi will continue to fight strongly for women’s rights and empowerment. He assured that the government will continue such efforts in the future also, so that the women of the country can achieve equal participation in politics.
