Modi’s dominance! Indonesia gave its biggest honor to PM, the world was shaken by the missile deal.
The first day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s six-day foreign visit has proved to be historic for India. PM Modi received a grand welcome as soon as he reached Jakarta and on the very first day of his visit, India achieved two major global achievements. Indonesian President Prabowo Subhianto awarded the Prime Minister the ‘Bintang Adipurna’ medal, his country’s highest civilian honour. President Subianto himself presented this honor to PM Modi, which is a great proof of the deep and unbreakable relations between India and Indonesia.
India’s big bang in defense sector
After this honour, bilateral talks took place between the two leaders, in which a very important strategic agreement was reached between India and Indonesia in the defense sector. Under this agreement, India will now supply its deadly BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles and air-to-air ‘Astra’ missiles to Indonesia. Both the countries have signed this historic deal, due to which the scope of India’s military partnership has become even wider and stronger.
Why is this missile deal special?
Strategic experts believe that this agreement will give new strength to Indonesia’s maritime security and air defense. On the other hand, this deal has greatly raised India’s stature in the international defense market. This step will establish India as a ‘defense supplier’ at the global level, which will give a new boost to the country’s defense exports in the coming times. Now India is emerging before the world as a self-reliant and reliable defense power.
What is Modi’s plan next?
After receiving a grand welcome and top honor in Jakarta, this mega tour of PM Modi is still going on. After Indonesia, the Prime Minister will participate in a major summit in Melbourne, Australia. After this, PM Modi’s visit to New Zealand is also proposed, which is very special because after almost 40 years, an Indian Prime Minister will set foot on New Zealand soil. This visit is going to open new doors for India’s diplomatic and economic future.
