Monsoon Alert – Heavy Rain & Thunderstorm Alert for 20+ States, Full June 13-18 Forecast
monsoon alert: Weather patterns across the country have shifted significantly. Alerts regarding rain, thunderstorms, and squalls have been issued for most states, and the weather has turned pleasantly cool. As of today, June 12, 2026, the Southwest Monsoon has advanced further into the entire northwestern Bay of Bengal, the west-central Bay of Bengal, and additional parts of West Bengal and Bihar.
By June 12, 2026, the northern limit of the monsoon passes through 18°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18°N/70°E, Harnai, Solapur, Hyderabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Kalingapatnam, Paradip, Baripada, Purulia, Dhanbad, Muzaffarpur, and 28.3°N/83°E.
In its latest bulletin, the Meteorological Department stated that conditions are favorable for the Southwest Monsoon to advance further over the next 2–3 days into the central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, the remaining parts of West Bengal, and additional areas of Odisha, Jharkhand, and Bihar. According to the department, rainfall activity in Northwest India is expected to continue until June 13 due to the influence of a Western Disturbance.
Rainfall in Northwest India
– According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain, along with isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, is likely in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between June 13 and June 18.
– An alert for rainfall has been issued for parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad for the period of June 13–18. Isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds are also expected in these regions. – Rain is likely at some places in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, and Western Uttar Pradesh between June 13 and 18.
– Rain is expected at isolated places in Western Rajasthan (June 13–17) and Eastern Rajasthan (June 13–18). Along with the rain, these states may experience thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds (40–50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph).

Rainfall Warning for Central India
– Rain is likely in Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Western Madhya Pradesh between June 13 and 18. Strong thunderstorms (wind speeds of 50–60 kmph, gusting up to 70 kmph) are also expected.
– Rain is likely at isolated places in Chhattisgarh between June 13 and 18.
– Rain is expected in Eastern and Western Madhya Pradesh between June 14 and 16.
– Thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds (40–50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph) are likely at isolated places in Vidarbha (June 13 and 16) and Chhattisgarh (June 13–16).
Weather in Western India
– Rain is likely at isolated places in the Gujarat region, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada between June 13 and 18.
– Rain is expected at isolated places in Saurashtra and Kutch between June 16 and 18.
– Thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds are likely at isolated places in Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada between June 12 and 13. Rainfall Expected in Northeast India.
– According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall is likely across Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura between June 13 and 18. Isolated thunderstorms and lightning strikes are also expected in these states.
