Monsoon will knock in India next month, this time there will be heavy rain before time.
New Delhi, 26 April. This time the South-West Monsoon may reach Andaman-Nicobar Islands between 15th and 25th May. After this, it is likely to reach Kerala by May 25. The European Center for Medium Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) has given this latest information regarding monsoon.
According to meteorologists, the reason for early arrival of monsoon this time is El Nino. The chances of El Nino conditions forming are very less. Positive Ocean Dipole is also likely to bring early rain and early onset of monsoon. According to the European Agency, there may be heavy rain in South India till the end of May.
imd issued heat wave alert
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of extreme heat and heat wave in many parts of the country. In many areas of North-West, Central and South India, the temperature is increasing rapidly and the situation remains worrying.
Maximum temperatures in many states range from 40 to 40 degrees Celsius.
According to IMD, these days the maximum temperature in many states has reached between 40 to 44 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature was 44.5 degrees in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. At many places the temperature was up to five degrees above normal.
IMD has alerted that in the coming days, heat wave may occur in many states of North India including Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. There is a possibility of increase in heat in Central India and some southern parts also. There is a possibility of heat wave even at night in many areas of North India. Due to this, people may have to face problems both day and night.
Sultry heat in coastal states
Sultry heat will persist in coastal states like Odisha, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. According to IMD, there will not be much change in temperature in North-West India till April 27. After this there may be a slight decline. Whereas in Central India the temperature will first increase and then gradually decrease.
