Abu Dhabi (UAE), 26 April. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval met UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Saturday during his official visit. During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and enhance cooperation on energy security amid changing regional developments.
According to a post made by the Indian Embassy in UAE on social media platform ‘X’, NSA Doval conveyed good wishes on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his meeting with the UAE President. They also discussed measures to deepen bilateral relations, regional security situation and other issues of mutual interest.
Giving further information on this meeting, UAE’s government news agency WAM said that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed welcomed NSA Doval. After that there was an exchange of greetings between the leadership of the two countries.
According to WAM, Doval expressed PM Modi’s good wishes and good intentions for the continued progress and prosperity of the UAE, while the UAE President also expressed his good wishes to the Indian leadership and wished for further development and prosperity for India and its people.
The discussions focused on recent developments in the Middle East and their impact on regional and international security and stability as well as global energy security concerns.
Second high level meeting between the two countries within a month
The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security. This is the second high-level meeting between the two countries within a month.
It is noteworthy that in the beginning of this month, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar had met the UAE President as part of his two-nation visit. Jaishankar stressed the strength of the India-UAE strategic partnership and said that despite the complex regional environment, the ongoing dialogue between the two countries remains strong and transparent. He had arrived in UAE after attending the 9th Indian Ocean Conference in Mauritius.
