Monsoon wreaked havoc! Relief rain in Delhi-NCR, flood and landslide havoc in Mumbai-Uttarakhand-Himachal

New Delhi. Monsoon has now gained full momentum across the country. The first monsoon rain in Delhi-NCR on Thursday brought relief from the scorching heat and humidity, but this rain has become a problem in many states of the country. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared red and orange alerts, warning of extremely heavy rainfall in many states for the next four to five days.

Relief in Delhi-NCR, problems increased in many states-
According to Naresh Yadav, senior scientist of IMD, the monsoon is progressing rapidly and will soon completely cover the western coastal areas of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. The weather became pleasant due to the first good rain in Delhi-NCR, but heavy rain in other parts of the country is taking a toll on life.

Rain became a problem in Mumbai-
Continuous torrential rains in the country’s financial capital Mumbai led to waterlogging in many areas. Traffic was affected due to water logging on the roads and long queues of vehicles formed at many places. People had to face huge problems in transportation.

Landslide in Uttarakhand, Chardham Yatra affected-
The effect of monsoon is continuously increasing in Uttarakhand. After heavy rains in Jyotirmath area of ​​Chamoli district, debris entered many houses. The Badrinath National Highway was closed due to landslides, due to which the Chardham Yatra was affected and many devotees got stuck on the way.

Cloud burst in Himachal, woman died-
Monsoon is wreaking havoc in Himachal Pradesh also. Cloud burst incidents have been reported at two places in Lahaul-Spiti and one place in Chamba. Due to this, roads, crops and communication routes were damaged. In Mandi district, a woman died after being hit by a stone falling from a hill.

According to the State Disaster Management Authority, 35 roads are closed in the state and 127 power transformers have been affected.

Alert issued in these states-
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert predicting extremely heavy rain in Konkan, Goa and South Gujarat for the next four to five days. At the same time, warning of very heavy rain has been given in many parts of Odisha and Central India.

Apart from this, Orange alert has been issued in five districts of Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain, thunder and landslides in the remaining districts also.

There will be no respite from rain now-
The Meteorological Department says that for now the rain will continue. In view of the landslides in the hilly states and waterlogging in the plains, people have been appealed to remain alert and follow the advisories issued by the administration.
