Monsoon wreaks havoc across the country! Flood-like conditions from Delhi to Gujarat, roads turned into rivers, life miserable

Country. Monsoon has started showing its fierce form across the country. Continuous torrential rains have completely affected life in many states. Continuous rain is continuing in Delhi-NCR and surrounding areas for the last 12 to 16 hours. This provided relief to people from the scorching heat, but waterlogging and traffic jams have made everyday life difficult.

Roads have been submerged in water in many areas of NCR including Delhi, Noida and Gurugram. There were long queues of vehicles on major routes and many vehicles got stuck in waterlogging. People are facing great difficulty in coming out of their homes due to knee-deep water in many residential colonies.

The pictures that emerged after the rain are also revealing the poor drainage system of the cities. At many places, drain water was seen flowing on the roads, which increased the problems of the people. The most affected are the daily wage labourers, street vendors and people of low income group, whose livelihood has been directly affected by this rain.

In many areas of Delhi-NCR, cattle were also seen looking for safe places to escape the rain. Due to incessant rains, there seems to be little chance of relief at present and the Meteorological Department has also advised people to remain alert.

On the other hand, in Assam’s capital Guwahati, many roads were waterlogged after heavy rains, due to which drivers and local people had to face a lot of problems.

The situation remains worrying in many cities of Gujarat also. After torrential rains, many areas have been completely submerged. Roads were submerged in water at many places, severely affecting normal life and traffic.

The continuous rains have once again raised the question as to why every year with the arrival of monsoon there is a situation of waterlogging and chaos in big cities. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are likely to continue in many states for the next few days.
