Apart from this, there will be moderate to heavy rain in Meerut, Agra, Aligarh, Moradabad and Saharanpur of western Uttar Pradesh. Moderate to heavy rain with thunder is also forecast in the districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh including the capital Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Ayodhya. Meteorologists have warned that a flash flood-like situation may occur in many catchment areas of western and eastern Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, eastern parts of Rajasthan like Kota, Udaipur, Jaipur, Dausa and Bharatpur divisions are also likely to receive light to moderate and isolated heavy rain on September 4. Do not under any circumstances take shelter under trees or dilapidated houses during a storm. Maintain a safe distance from open fields, waterlogged areas and electric poles and transformers. During thunderstorms, unplug the TV, refrigerator and other electronic appliances present in the house from the electrical board. Farmer brothers have been advised not to go to open places in the fields till the weather becomes normal and ensure proper drainage system to protect their crops from waterlogging. Drivers have been advised to drive slowly and with caution on wet roads.
