Congress leader and former MP Raj Babbar has been active in politics for decades. He has been an MP in both the upper house Rajya Sabha and the lower house Lok Sabha. In the last Lok Sabha elections 2024, he had contested from Haryana's industrial city Gurgaon Lok Sabha on a Congress ticket but he lost to BJP's Rao Inderjit Singh.
Two years after losing the election, Raj Babbar has raised serious questions on the electoral process while talking about 2024 elections. This question of Babbar has come at a time when Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is raising questions about the transparency of the Election Commission.

There was immense support from the public in the elections.
Raj Babbar said that it is about the last Lok Sabha elections. He said that when the counting of votes started, what he had felt during the election campaign became clearly visible. He said that he was winning round after round during the counting of elections but after that he suddenly fell behind and could not move ahead again.
Raj Babbar raised serious questions?
The former MP and senior leader said, 'You keep winning round after round and then lag behind in such a way that you are never able to bridge the margin of lagging behind a little. The people of Gurgaon gave 7.33 lakh votes for Congress. The losing candidates in the country got the highest number of votes – they won many rounds but like many times in the past, BJP still got a few thousand more votes.

If Congress got so many votes then how did it lose?
Raj Babbar further raised serious questions by saying that Gurgaon was among the 176 Lok Sabha constituencies across the country where more votes were counted than those cast. He said that the difference figure is not much but this is a truth which is strange. Raj Babbar said that it was not understood at that time that if Congress got so many votes then how did it lose? Now I understand that everything is under control here.
Let us tell you that in the last Lok Sabha elections, Raj Babbar lost by 75,079 votes. Rao Inderjit Singh got a total of 808,336 votes with 50.48 vote share while Raj Babbar got 7,33,257 votes with 45.79 vote share.
