Movement halted for now over salary crisis in Shuats

Bureau Prayagraj- The protest by the teachers in Shuats, who were angry over non-payment of salaries for a long time, has ended for the time being, but the movement has not ended completely. The teachers have given a clear warning that if the salaries are not paid within a week, the agitation will be started again and it will be made more widespread.

It is being told that teachers were continuously protesting in the university campus for the last several days regarding the salary crisis. During this period, more than 200 teachers participated in the movement and expressed their displeasure against the management. Teachers allege that they are facing financial difficulties due to salaries being pending for a long time.

Before ending the protest, the teachers’ delegation submitted a written memorandum to City Magistrate Vinod Kumar Singh. In the memorandum, along with the demand for prompt payment of pending salaries, a demand has also been raised to appoint a receiver in the university, so that the financial system can be made transparent.

The university management says that as soon as the funds become available, the salaries of all the teachers will be paid together. However, no fixed date for payment has been announced by the management, due to which there remains dissatisfaction among the teachers.

Meanwhile, teachers of the Computer Science department have taken a tough stance and warned that if the salaries are not received within the stipulated time limit, then the examinations of the students can be stopped. Besides, the movement will be further intensified, in which students can also participate.

City Magistrate Vinod Kumar Singh, after taking the memorandum, has assured the teachers that efforts will be made to resolve the matter within a week. Only after his assurance, the teachers decided to end the strike for the time being.
