A 24-year-old motorcyclist from Mumbai died on Wednesday morning after her vehicle was struck by an unidentified heavy truck in Chhattisgarh’s Balod district.
Riddhi Thakkar was with around 20 other bikers on a trip to the Bastar area.
She was going through the Markatola Ghat near NH-30 and fell off her Bajaj Avenger bike when a truck ran into her around 6 am, an official under Purur police station said.
Thakkar was a resident of Borivali West.
She was initially taken to the Charama Community Health Centre in Kanker district and later shifted to a private hospital in Dhamtari
She later died at around 8:30 am. The unidentified vehicle fled the spot after the collision.
Police have launched an investigation and are working to identify the vehicle and trace its driver.
