Mumbai Amidst the ongoing action against drugs in the country, a big international drug network has been exposed in Mumbai. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has conducted raids in the city and recovered 349 kg of high-grade cocaine, whose value in the international market is said to be around Rs 1,745 crore. Information about this big action was shared by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on social media platform X on Friday. He said that the government is fully committed to root out drug mafias. Shah described this action of NCB as a big success and also praised the team.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that this cocaine was not limited to Mumbai or Delhi only, but there were preparations to supply it to many big cities of the country as well as abroad. The investigating agencies suspect that a big international drug syndicate was working behind this, which may have been active for a long time. According to sources, many suspects including some foreign nationals have been detained in this case. He is being continuously interrogated so that the layers of the entire network can be opened. Agencies are busy finding out where this consignment of drugs came from and to whom it was to be delivered.
Amit Shah said that this action is an example of how a huge drug network can be reached by taking the investigation forward on the basis of a small information. He called it an effective “bottom-up” testing strategy. It is being told that this major recovery has taken place just a few days after the return of notorious drug smuggler Salim Dola from Türkiye to India. Salim Dola’s name has long been associated with international drug trafficking and underworld. He is considered a close associate of Dawood Ibrahim. The investigating agencies are now looking at the links of this entire network by connecting it to him also.
