Baliya. Police have made a shocking revelation in the case of murder of mother and daughter in Mustafabad village of Rasra area. According to the police, 65-year-old Manati Devi and her 22-year-old visually impaired daughter Gauri were murdered not by any outside assailant, but by Manati Devi's husband Ramchij Gupta, 70, along with his two associates. In the initial investigation, the case was believed to be the crime of unknown assailants, but as the investigation progressed, the police suspicion fell on the head of the family.
Social stigma given as reason
According to the police, Manati Devi was suffering from mental illness and the family had to face social problems due to her condition. His daughter Gauri was visually impaired and depended on the help of others. Police claim that Ramchij was worried about the family's condition and social prestige and that is why he planned to eliminate his wife and daughter. For this, he allegedly included Chandan Yadav and Dinesh Gupta of the same village with him.
The incident took place on the night of 16 September
According to the police, on the evening of September 16, the three accused together attacked the mother and daughter. Use of sharp tools has come to light in the incident. Police say that after the murder, an attempt was made to remove the traces of blood present in the house. Daughter Gauri's body was taken out of the house and thrown in a nearby paddy field, while Manati Devi's body was found inside the house. Even in the initial investigation, the police had indicated signs of an attempt to destroy evidence at the scene.
The next day, Ramchij informed the police and claimed that unknown people had murdered his wife and daughter. However, the joint investigation of SWAT, Surveillance and Rasra police deepened the suspicion regarding the incident and after interrogation, the police arrested three people including Ramchij. According to the police, at the behest of the accused, the alleged tools used in the crime and blood stained clothes have been recovered.

The incident is also being confirmed by post-mortem report and other forensic evidence.
