‘My market value was low…’ Bobby Deol said on being replaced from Jab We Met
Tezzbuzz Desk – Today Bobby Deol is counted among the busiest stars of Bollywood. He has many big films, which are scheduled to release in 2026 and 2027. But there was a time when his career was going through difficult times and he was dropped from many projects. Recently Bobby Deol mentioned one of the biggest shocks of his career, when he was thrown out of the superhit film ‘Jab We Met’.
In an interview, Bobby Deol told that ‘Jab We Met’ was not just a film for him, but a project from which he hoped to give a new direction to his career. He said that he had faith in the talent of director Imtiaz Ali from the beginning. After watching Imtiaz’s film ‘Socha Na Tha’, he had decided that he wanted to work with him.
Bobby told that he was the one who first put forward the idea for the film and also persuaded Kareena Kapoor to be a part of this project. But as the planning of the film progressed, circumstances changed. According to him, his market value was considered weak at that time, which directly affected the film.
The actor said that it took a lot of time to start the film and during this time circumstances changed. Later the same film was made, the same director was there and the same actress also appeared in the film, but she was dropped from the project. Bobby admitted that it was a very sad experience for him at that time, because he felt that this film could have proved to be a game changer for his career.
However, with time he has left this incident behind. He said that now there is no rift between him and Imtiaz Ali and both are good friends. But even today he has not been able to forget the disappointment and pain of that period.
Talking about the work front, Bobby Deol currently has many big projects. He will soon be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s film ‘Bandar’, which will release on June 5, 2026. Apart from this, he is also a part of popular films like ‘Ramayana’, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ and ‘Jana Nayakan’.
