The extension, approved by the Ministry of Culture, Hotels and Tourism, runs from Aug. 30, 2026 to Aug. 29, 2027, marking the third one-year trial period for the scheme, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Myanmar received over 700,000 foreign visitors in the first eight months of 2026, up 7% year-on-year, according to the ministry.
