Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing reached Bodhgaya, welcomed by Governor Syed Ata Hasnain
Patna, 30 May. Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing has started his India tour from Bodhgaya, Bihar. The President of Myanmar was warmly welcomed on his arrival in Bodhgaya, further strengthening the civilizational ties with the neighboring country. He was received at the airport by Governor Lieutenant (retd) General Syed Ata Hasnain. Yu has come to India on a five-day (30 May to 3 June) state visit. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal gave information about his arrival in Bodhgaya along with some pictures on the social media platform X. He said that this visit reflects the deep spiritual, historical, and people-to-people relations between India and Myanmar.
At the same time, it also underlines the ongoing cooperation and strengthening of mutual partnership between the two countries. According to the schedule released by the ministry, Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing will be on an official visit to India from May 30 to June 3, 2026, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He will also be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising several cabinet ministers, senior officials and industry representatives. This is his first visit to India as President. Bilateral talks will be held between President Hulling and Prime Minister Modi in New Delhi on June 1, in which further strengthening of the historical, cultural and civilizational relations between the two countries will be discussed.
President Hlaing will also participate in a business forum. After Bodh Gaya on Saturday, Yoo Min will be on Mumbai tour on June 2, where he will participate in programs related to business and industry and visit various places. Situated at the center of India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’, ‘Act East’ and ‘Ocean’ policies, Myanmar is a strategically important partner for both countries. It is believed that this visit will provide further depth and strength to India-Myanmar relations.
