Naini, Prayagraj. On Wednesday, Naini police took prompt action and revealed the incident of theft within 24 hours. The police team has arrested two accused and recovered the stolen scooter from their possession. According to the information received, plaintiff Shari Salomon, resident of Gangotri Nagar, Naini, had lodged a complaint on 13 April 2026 that unknown thieves broke the lock of her house and stole the scooter (number UP70 HS 9602, navy blue) and other items. In this regard, a case was registered under IPC No. 191/2026 section 305(A)/331(4) BNS in Naini police station.
During the investigation of the case, the police received information from the informer, on the basis of which, on April 14, 2026, two accused – Akash Singh (28 years) and Sunny Kesarwani (32 years), both residents of Chaklal Mohammad Isai Basti, Police Station Naini – were arrested from near the drain of Navprayagam parking. The stolen scooter was recovered from the possession of the arrested accused. During interrogation, the accused admitted that they had stolen the scooter from Gangotri Nagar area.
However, he denied stealing other items. During the investigation, Section 317 (2) BNS has also been increased in the case. Criminal History: Cases related to assault, threat and Arms Act have been registered against the arrested accused Akash Singh in the past in Kotwali Nagar police station of Mahoba district.
