Name in cricket now respect in police service Akashdeep and Mukesh Kumar of Bihar got the post of DSP

New Delhi. A historic day was made for the sports world of Bihar when international cricketers Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar were appointed by the state government to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police i.e. DSP in the police department. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary handed over appointment letters to a total of 21 players, including the two players, during a function organized at Urja Auditorium. These appointments were given under the Medal Lao Naukri Paao Scheme, which aims to encourage sports talents by providing respectable government service to outstanding players.

Addressing the function, the Chief Minister said that this step of the state government is an important initiative towards the respect of the players and their bright future. He said that for the first time in Bihar, a player has been appointed to a high post like DSP and this will give new inspiration to the young players to excel in sports. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that in the coming years, the players of Bihar will bring glory to the country and the state on big platforms like Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Cup and IPL.

The Chief Minister also gave information about the government’s plans for the development of sports. He said that from September 15, a campaign to identify sports talents will be started at the Panchayat level. Selected players will be provided modern training and necessary facilities so that they can perform better at national and international level. He also said that continuous work is being done on the establishment of Sports University in Nalanda and expansion of sports infrastructure in the state.

The government also announced that Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna is being redeveloped and the responsibility of its operation has been handed over to the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Also, construction of five thousand sports grounds has been completed in the last two years across Bihar so that sports facilities can be provided at the village level.

After receiving the appointment letter, fast bowler Akashdeep called it a proud moment of his life. He said that he comes from a small village in Rohtas district and used to play cricket amidst limited resources in the initial days. At that time, sports was not given much importance as a career, but now such schemes of the government will boost the morale of the players. He also expressed his desire to develop a modern multi sports complex in Sasaram so that the local talent can get better facilities.

Indian team’s fast bowler Mukesh Kumar also expressed his gratitude to the Bihar government and said that this decision is very inspiring for the players. According to him, there is no dearth of talent in Bihar but what is needed is only proper opportunity and better training. He expressed confidence that the new policy of the government will play an important role in producing a large number of national and international players from the state in the coming years.

This initiative of Bihar government is not limited only to government appointments but also gives the message that players who excel in sports can get both respect and a secure future. This will inspire thousands of youth of the state to adopt sports as a career and Bihar will take strong steps towards creating a new identity in the field of sports.
