Namibia is set to host South Africa and Zimbabwe for a T20I tri-series, followed by a three-match ODI series against South Africa.
The T20I tri-series will begin on August 28, with the final to be played on September 06 while the ODI series begins on September 09.
The tri-series will serve as groundwork for the upcoming edition of the Africa Cup in 2027, aiming to provide opportunities for talents across Africa.
The profits generated from the tri-series will be donated to the Africa Cricket Association to help the growth of the game across the continent.
“We are immensely grateful to Cricket South Africa and Zimbabwe Cricket for their commitment to this series, which reflects the strong partnership and shared vision to grow cricket across the African continent,” said Cricket Namibia CEO Johan Muller.
South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe are set to host the 2027 ODI World Cup, with the tournament’s venues having been announced. Cricket South Africa’s CEO, Pholetsi Moseki, believes that the tri-series will generate excitement ahead of the ICC tournament.
“We are excited to be part of this white-ball tour, which not only further demonstrates our commitment to strengthening the game in our neighbouring countries, but also builds excitement ahead of next year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which will be co-hosted by all three nations,” he said.
South Africa has a busy international home season. They will host eight men’s tests against Australia (3), Bangladesh (2), and England (3), as well as nine ODIs and three T20Is between September and January, ahead of the SA20 2027.
Despite their hectic schedule, South Africa remains committed to their role in helping to grow and promote the game on the continent.
All the ODI series will be played at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek, which also stages the tri-series.
The venue, which opened in 2025 and comprises two grounds, will host every one of the ten scheduled matches across the entire tour.
