UP NEWS: During the last 60 hours in Uttar Pradesh, 56 people have lost their lives, while 46 people have been seriously injured in various mishaps related to heavy rains, gusty winds and thunderstorms. State Relief Commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod, giving official information on this, said that 56 human deaths, 107 cattle deaths and 1,021 houses were damaged in the state due to heavy rains and storms.
Loss of life and property in affected districts
According to the relief commissioner, major losses were reported in the following areas. 7 people died in Sitapur, 5 in Lakhimpur Kheri, 5 in Bahraich, 5 in Balrampur, 4 in Ayodhya and 4 in Gorakhpur. 7 persons were injured in Hardoi, 5 in Mainpuri, 5 in Sravasti, 5 in Barabanki and 3 each in Sitapur and Lakhimpur Kheri. Hardoi has the highest number of 272 houses collapsed. Apart from this, 108 houses were damaged in Sitapur, 75 in Chandauli, 60 in Auraiya, 54 in Gonda, 51 in Hamirpur, 47 in Shahjahanpur and 44 in Bahraich.
Heavy rains in 56 districts, system on alert mode
Out of total 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, 56 districts have received much above normal rainfall. The Relief Commissioner held a meeting with all District Magistrates (DMs) and Additional DMs to review the relief and rescue operations. Officials have been strictly instructed to stay in the field and maintain direct contact with the affected citizens and provide immediate assistance.
Orders of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the administration to take swift action. Damage to crops should be surveyed immediately and compensation should be paid to farmers as per rules. To provide immediate financial assistance to families whose houses have been destroyed and to arrange alternative shelter if necessary.

Rescue teams are working continuously to evacuate people from flooded low-lying areas to safer places. The system has appealed to people to stay away from high flowing rivers, streams and flooded areas.
