National seminar concludes at Shri Somnath Sanskrit University with the resolve of a healthy and developed India.

Veraval, October 9, 2026: Shree Somnath Sanskrit University under Development Week-2026 RUSA Component No. 11 – The closing ceremony of the three-day national seminar organized on the topic “Role of Yoga, Physical Education, Essence and Naturopathy in building a developed India” in collaboration with Faculty Improvement and a joint initiative of Sri Somnath Sanskrit University, Veraval's Special Yoga Center, Patanjali Wellness Center and Physical Education Department, was held. It was organized at the University on October 9, 2026 from 03.00 pm onwards.

The inauguration ceremony was started with lighting of lamp and chanting of Vedic mantras by the students of Veda department. After this, Kulgeet of the University was presented. University Registrar Dr. Mahesh Kumar Maitra came to verbally welcome and introduce the dignitaries present and the dignitaries were honoured.

The ceremony was presided over by Dr., Vice Chancellor-in-charge of Shri Somnath Sanskrit University. Narendra Kumar Pandya did it. Dr. as chief guest. Pachabhai Damania, M.D. (Ayurveda), Ayurveda Expert, Dr. Damania Ayurvedic Hospital, Una, Gir Somnath and Dr. as special guest. Rahul Bhatt, Chief Medical Officer and Naturopathy Consultant, Yogashram Nature Cure Centre, Junagadh was present.

Seminar coordinator Dr. Manankumar Aggarwal had presented the report of the three-day national seminar. He gave information about various educational sessions organized during the seminar, guidance from subject experts and active participation of the participants. Surya Namaskar was performed 511 times. 220 researchers presented research papers and 80 participants. A total of 300 yoga seekers from various places across India participated in this three-day seminar. Then the participants presented the knowledge, experiences and their responses gained during the seminar. In this phase Tulsi Bhabhor, Dr. Participants including Indrani Trivedi, Divyansh Jain, Jaipal Singh Rajput, Jairam Kushwaha and Poonam Mehta presented their views. Jairam Kushwaha, who came from Lakulish Yoga University, Ahmedabad/Jharkhand, signed an MoU with his university and expressed his desire to do joint educational and research work.

Chief guest Dr. Panchabhai Damania, in his address, highlighted the importance of Ayurveda and Indian traditional medical systems. He expressed his views on the role of Yoga, Ayurveda and naturopathy in building a healthy lifestyle. He said that in the Ayurveda text Charak Samhita (Chapter 11), Praneshana, Dhaneshana and Parlokeshana have been talked about. Hey Dukhamanagatam. (Patanjala Yogasutram 2.16) That is, future suffering should be avoided. Sitting in Padmasana for just 5 minutes every day does not cause cancer. He also talked about the features and benefits of various asanas. Humans can control BP by regular Anulom-Vilom Pranayama.

Special guest Dr. Rahul Bhatte gave guidance about the interrelationship between naturopathy, yoga and healthy lifestyle. He explained the importance of naturopathy for maintaining health, boosting immunity and overall well-being.

In the presidential address, the Vice-Chancellor in-charge of the University, Dr. Narendra Kumar Pandya had stressed the need to promote and spread Indian knowledge traditions like yoga, physical education, spiritual science and naturopathy. He inspired us to contribute to building a healthy, strong and developed India by combining these knowledge traditions with modern educational and research approach. We are all connected with nature. Generally, human nature is mostly sexual. A person with passion is a hard worker. The ultimate goal of human life is to attain peace. Ashantasya Kutah Sukham. (Shrimad Bhagavad Gita-2.66) How can a disturbed person get happiness? Pantjalimuni has given three scriptures: 1) Yogasutra (for purification of mind), 2) Mahabhashyam (for purification of speech/words) and 3) Charaka Samhita (for purification of body). In the end he said that people who lead a yogic life remain healthy.

During the ceremony, certificates were distributed to the participants of the seminar by the dignitaries present on the stage. On this occasion, seminar organizers, coordinators, guides, professors, researchers, students and participants from different places were present.

The entire program was managed by Dr. Manisha B. Ram, Assistant Professor, Vishisht Yoga Kendra, Shri Somnath Sanskrit University, Veraval. Mrs. Vaishaliben Wagh, Research Assistant, Atreni University was present as co-coordinator. Finally Dr. D. M. Mokriya, Incharge Research Director and expressed gratitude to the dignitaries present, organizers and participants.

This three-day national seminar encouraged academic discussion and exchange of knowledge about the importance of yoga, physical education, spiritual science and naturopathy. This program was conducted with the aim of contributing to building a developed India by combining Indian traditional knowledge and modern health-oriented approach.
