Nature’s ultimatum for the next 60 hours! ‘Great crisis’ of storm, rain and flood will create chaos in 22 states
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the most dangerous bulletin for the country. The next 60 hours are no less than a big test for the whole of India. The ‘low pressure area’ that is going to form in the Bay of Bengal is going to give devastating speed to the monsoon again. Meteorologists have warned that 22 states may be hit by severe destruction in the next 60 hours. This will be that ferocious form of July where the ‘seasonal maze’ of torrential rains along with strong storms, lightning, floods and terrible landslides on the mountains is going to be active simultaneously.
‘Double attack’ in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar
The weather pattern has completely changed in Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘double alert’ of heavy rain and thunderstorm for 16 districts of the state, including Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bahraich, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Barabanki, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Kanpur, Etawah, Jalaun, Banda, Agra, Auraiya and Hamirpur. There is a possibility of destructive winds at a speed of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour in Prayagraj and surrounding areas. At the same time, a strong counterattack of monsoon is visible in Bihar. There is a warning of extremely heavy rain in Araria and Kishanganj, while rivers are in spate in Samastipur, Vaishali, Darbhanga and Katihar, due to which the danger of flood is at its peak.
Delhi’s ‘humid torture’ and dusty storm in Rajasthan
On one hand the country is in the grip of floods, on the other hand the people of Delhi-NCR will be troubled by the ‘torture’ of humidity and scorching heat. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be only cloud movement in the capital, but there is no expectation of heavy rain. At the same time, the south-west monsoon is currently weak in Rajasthan. There are less chances of rain in cities like Jaipur and Jodhpur, but in western districts like Bikaner, Churu and Sriganganagar, dust storms moving at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour will make life miserable for the people.
Shadow of death on the mountains and heavy alert in Central India
There is a serious threat of landslides on the hilly roads of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh within the next 48 to 60 hours. Flash flood warning has been issued with heavy rain in Nainital, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Shimla and Kangra. Those going on Chardham Yatra have been advised to remain cautious at present. At the same time, ‘Yellow Warning’ has been issued in West Bengal, where winds will blow at a speed of 50 km per hour. There is an alert of heavy to very heavy rain in 17 districts of Madhya Pradesh, such as Indore, Ujjain, Chhindwara and Balaghat. Torrential rains in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya in northeast India have already taken rivers above the danger mark.
