Moradabad. Amidst the tussle in the Samajwadi Party over taking credit for the construction of bridges on the Ramganga river in Thakurdwara seat of Moradabad, Congress has now entered the party. Taking a dig at the war of words between SP MLA Nawab Jan Khan and SP leader Engineer Iqbal Hussain, Congress city president Shamim Chaudhary has given a big statement. Rejecting the claims of the SP MLA, he said that if anyone gets the credit for the major bridges built in the area, it is former Congress MP from Moradabad Mohammad Azharuddin and former Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.
'The truth is something else, the leaders are busy in looting accolades'
Congress city president Shamim Chaudhary said in clear words that there is a competition to gain false praise for the development works in the area. Citing facts, he said that not one or two, but three bridges have been built on the Ramganga river, while another bridge has been built on the Dhela river. The ground reality of all these construction works is something else, which the SP MLAs are misleading the public by calling it their achievement.
Shamim Chaudhary counted the figures of 4 big bridges
Congress city president gave the complete list giving details of the bridges built in the area:
- Thakurdwara-Syohara Road Bridge: This bridge over the Ramganga river was approved and constructed when Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
- Thakurdwara-Kanth Road Bridge: This important bridge was constructed due to the efforts of the then Congress MP from Moradabad Lok Sabha seat, Mohammad Azharuddin.
- Holder Nangla-Islamnagar Bridge: The bridge built on Ramganga river near village Islamnagar between Dharak Nangla and Moradabad was also got constructed by former MP Mohammad Azharuddin.
- Tumadia-Dolpuri Dhela River Bridge: The credit for the bridge built on Dhela river between village Tumadia of Thakurdwara tehsil and village Dolpuri of Bhagatpur Tanda block also goes directly to former MP Azharuddin.
Congress claims new political turn in credit war
Shamim Chaudhary took a sharp taunt and said that the reality is that these basic structures were strengthened due to the tenure of Congress and the activism of former MP Azharuddin, but today anyone making false praises will not change the truth.
After this statement of the Congress leader, a triangular conflict has started in the politics of Thakurdwara. While earlier MLA Nawab Jan Khan and Engineer Iqbal Hussain were face to face within SP, now Congress has given a new political twist to the entire controversy by highlighting the work done during the tenure of former cricketer and former Congress MP Mohammad Azharuddin.
