‘NCIS’ brings back Michael Weatherly for major Season 24 appearance
Fans of NCIS have another exciting reunion to look forward to.
A longtime series regular is set to make a return to the franchise.
The police procedural drama is bringing back one of its most recognizable stars, with Michael Weatherly returning for Season 24 after starring in the show’s first 13 seasons.
The announcement came shortly after CBS confirmed that Mark Harmon will take on a season-long, on-screen role in NCIS: Origins.
For the unversed, Mark starred as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the fan favourite series.
The upcoming season of NCIS will see the 57-year-old actor reprise his role as Tony DiNozzo for a season long arc, reuniting with the team in Washington, D.C.
While he last appeared on the flagship series in February 2024, he and former castmate Cote de Pablo also headlined NCIS: Tony and Ziva on Paramount+ last year before the series was canceled after a single season.
Producers are keeping the details of Tony’s return tightly under wraps.
Fans were quite excited to learn the news, taking to social media to share their reactions.
“Ok, Gibbs is back, Tony is back, WHAT A WEEK,” one fan wrote.
“I can’t wait for Tony to come ‘home,'” another remarked.
“We need Ziva too!” a third penned.
