2 million barrels of oil in the stomach, shelling Indian ships in Hormuz! Salil Samadhi in the sea?
Indian ships under attack again in the Strait of Hormuz! It is alleged that the oil tanker was fired upon as it entered Iranian waters. The vessel was carrying a total of 2 million barrels of crude oil. But the merchantman somehow survived and crossed the Hormuz. It is reported that it has already reached its destination at Paradwip port in Odisha.
The ship is named ‘MT Sanmar Herald’. It is the flag bearer of India. The ship had a total of 22 crew members. Recently it was returning to India with oil from Iraq. But the situation changed after entering Hormuz. When the ship reached Iranian waters, the merchant vessel was allegedly fired upon. But it is still not clear who attacked the ship. The tanker suffered some damage due to shelling. But somehow the ship crossed Hormuz and slowly entered India. All crew members are safe.
A few days ago, Iran and America signed the MoU to restore permanent peace in West Asia. But then both countries accused each other of violating the ceasefire. Iran announced the closure of Hormuz again to give ‘reply’ to America. Since then, Iran-America has been involved in a new conflict. A commercial vessel was also attacked in Hormuz last Monday. The ship’s control room was destroyed. But this ship somehow survived.
It should be noted that on Tuesday, Iran-America held peace talks in Doha, the capital of Qatar. However, the two countries did not sit face to face in the meeting. Information was exchanged through mediators Pakistan and Qatari representatives. According to sources, the meeting was positive. The two countries have reached consensus on several issues. In this atmosphere, the news of the attack on the Indian ship in Hormuz came to light.
