NEET paper leak case: Accused Yash Yadav sought permission from the court to study, said- NEET exam has to be given on June 21

An interesting twist has emerged in the NEET UG paper leak case. Yash Yadav, accused in the case, has filed an application in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court seeking permission to keep books for exam preparation. Yash says that he has to appear for NEET UG exam on 21st June and needs study material to continue his preparation.

On Tuesday (June 2), accused Mangilal Biwal, Vikas Biwal, Dinesh Biwal, Yash Yadav and Dhananjay Lokhande, arrested by the CBI, were produced in the Rouse Avenue Court. During the hearing, Yash Yadav requested the court to allow him to keep the books and study material necessary for his exam preparation.

Judicial custody extended till June 15

After the hearing, the court extended the judicial custody of all the accused till June 15. All the accused were produced in the court after the previous custody period ended.

New revelations are continuously emerging in the investigation.

The NEET UG paper leak case, which has become a topic of discussion across the country, is being investigated by the CBI in many states including Maharashtra, Haryana, Rajasthan. New facts are continuously coming to light during the investigation.

Recently, CBI has arrested two more accused in this case, including a doctor from Latur. According to the agency, accused doctor Dr. Shirure had allegedly provided chemistry question paper to three students. The son of an accused coaching operator is also said to be included among these students.

Role of faculty in physics paper leak

The CBI investigation has also revealed that the question papers were allegedly obtained through accused P.V. Kulkarni. The second arrested accused is Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, who works as Physics Faculty at Dr. Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy (APMA), Pune.

Investigating agencies allege that Tejas Shah had allegedly received leaked Physics questions of NEET-UG 2026 from arrested accused Manisha Hawaldar. The investigation of the case is still going on and CBI is busy connecting the links of the entire network.
