On the 22nd day of the agitation, the local residents extended full support to the students. Traders in Bhanwarkuan and residents of nearby settlements provided water, fruits, biscuits and home-made food for the protestors.

A large poster was put up at the protest site with the names of 20 students who committed suicide due to exam stress. Two students attracted attention by drawing a rangoli on the picture of education reform activist Sonam Wangchuk.
