Big revelation in NEET-UG 2026 scam: CBI clamps down on paper translator, 14 days custody granted
NEET-UG 2026: The CBI, which is investigating the NEET UG 2026 paper leak case, has got a big success so far. Manisha Mandhare, a member of the paper-setting committee arrested in the case, was produced in the court, where the court ordered her to be sent to CBI custody for 14 days. The information presented by the investigating agency before the court during the hearing made the whole matter more serious.

Had direct access to question paper
According to CBI, Manisha Mandhare used to handle the translation of question papers of Botany and Zoology subjects. Because of this responsibility, he got direct access to the real question papers. The investigating agency claims that the paper leak conspiracy was carried out using this access. It was told in the court that this was not an isolated act, rather the entire plan was prepared in a very well planned manner. According to the agency, Mandhare allegedly along with PV Kulkarni and Manisha Waghmare created a network to deliver the papers.
The scope of investigation spread across the country
Investigation also revealed that the original question paper was delivered to the accused named Shubham, after which it was further distributed among other people. CBI told the court that the links of this case are spread across many states and simultaneous investigation and raids are being conducted at different places. On this basis, the agency demanded longer custody, so that the accused could be taken to different places and interrogated and digital and documentary evidence could be collected. Considering the arguments as serious, the court approved remand for 14 days.

This matter has raised concerns of lakhs of students and their families. This revelation is being considered even bigger amid the continuously rising questions on the fairness of competitive examinations. Now everyone’s eyes are on the further investigation by CBI to find out who else was involved in this entire network and how big is the scope of the paper leak.
