National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the result of NEET UG 2026 late on Thursday evening. With this, the wait of lakhs of medical candidates across the country is over. Candidates can now download their scorecard by visiting the official website neet.nta.nic.in. With the timely release of results, the way has been cleared for counseling of MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other medical courses to begin as per schedule.

This year NEET UG exam was in discussion for a special reason. The exam was re-conducted after the paper leak controversy. About 20 lakh candidates from India and abroad took part in Re-NEET. The examination was conducted at 5,440 examination centers in 551 cities of the country and 14 cities abroad. Of these, 11.21 lakh candidates were successful in qualifying for admission to medical courses.

Students from Punjab and Haryana topped

This time Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana jointly secured the first position in the country. Both scored 715 marks out of 720. According to NTA, a total of 19 candidates have scored more than 700 marks, while 138 students have scored more than 690 marks.

According to the data, more than 93 per cent of the top scorers appeared for the NEET exam for the first time, while almost 99 per cent of the toppers were aged between 17 and 19 years.

Girls students performed better

This time the girl students left the boys behind in terms of success. More than 58 percent of the total successful candidates are girls. The success rate of girl students was 56.8 percent, while the success rate of boys was recorded at 55.1 percent.

How many students scored how many marks?

A large number of candidates performed brilliantly in NEET UG 2026.

  • 700+ marks: 19 candidates
  • 690+ marks: 138 candidates
  • 650+ marks: 1,492 candidates
  • 600+ marks: 10,160 candidates
  • 500+ marks: 90,780 candidates

Successful candidates from every state

According to NTA, candidates from all 36 states and union territories of the country have qualified the exam.

  • Maximum 1.7 lakh candidates were successful from Uttar Pradesh.
  • 43 candidates from Lakshadweep passed the exam.
  • State-wise toppers include Jigmet Yangchen Lamo of Ladakh (530 marks), Dhruv Tripathi of Andaman and Nicobar (606 marks) and Fahmida Anees of Lakshadweep (573 marks).

Examination conducted in 13 languages

NEET UG 2026 was conducted in 13 languages, which include Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. NTA has clarified that its function is only to conduct the examination, release the results and declare All India Rank. Counseling for All India quota will be conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), while counseling for state quota will be conducted by the respective state governments.

The agency has also advised the candidates to beware of fake calls, messages and online fraud in the name of getting seats. NTA has clarified that it does not ask for money or personal information from any candidate.
