Police keeping an eye on all NHs in Bihar, action will be taken against these vehicles
Patna. The state government and police headquarters have taken big steps to strengthen road safety in Bihar. Now all the National Highways (NH) passing through the state will be under regular monitoring of the traffic police. For this, new interceptor vehicles are being included in the police fleet, with the help of which speeding, violation of traffic rules and other road related activities will be continuously monitored.
Interceptor vehicles will be deployed every 50 kilometers
According to the police headquarters, the traffic police is going to get 58 new interceptor vehicles this month. Combined with the vehicles already operating, it will now be possible to monitor almost the entire National Highway network. Under the plan, an interceptor vehicle will be deployed at a distance of about every 50 kilometers, which will make both patrolling and monitoring more effective.
Action against overspeed and rule breakers
The main objective of the new system is to reduce road accidents. Modern cameras and speed guns will be installed in interceptor vehicles, with the help of which those driving above the prescribed speed limit will be identified. E-challan action will also be taken against drivers who violate the rules.
Along with monitoring, security system is also better
Interceptor vehicles will not be limited to just issuing challans. Facilities like voice recording will also be available in these, which can be used as evidence in cases related to violation of traffic rules. Besides, these vehicles will also keep an eye on roadside encroachment, suspicious activities and other security related matters.
You will get quick help in case of emergency
These vehicles will also be connected to Dial-112 emergency service. With this, as soon as information about a road accident or any other emergency is received, the nearest interceptor vehicle will be able to reach the spot immediately. Timely initiation of relief and rescue operations will increase the chances of injured people getting assistance within the ‘golden hour’, which can help save lives in serious cases.
Road safety will get new strength
After the implementation of the new system, traffic rules on national highways will be enforced more strictly. Interceptor vehicles equipped with modern technology, regular patrolling and arrangements for quick emergency assistance will play an important role in strengthening road safety. With this, the journey is expected to become safer for the passengers and the traffic system is also expected to be more disciplined than before.
