Big things about this new service

Starting with small cylinders: At present, small cylinders of 5 kg and 10 kg will be delivered through this service. The commonly used heavy 14.2 kg cylinders are not currently a part of this service.

No hassle of connection: For this you will not have to go through any lengthy paperwork. Customers will be able to order these cylinders even without any pre-existing HP Gas connection.

First knock in Bengaluru: The trial (pilot run) of this service is being started first in Bengaluru. After the success there, it will be introduced in other cities of the country also.

There is still suspense on the prices: However, both the companies have not yet disclosed its delivery fees or the prices of the cylinders.

What is the meaning of this step?

This partnership has come amid concerns over LPG supply that arose during the Iran conflict some time ago. India is the second largest LPG consumer country in the world, where mainly government companies like Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum supply the gas.
