America shocked by the massive fire in the forests of Canada, an entire city burnt to ashes! Toronto’s AQI becomes the worst in the world

Smoke from more than 100 massive wildfires in Northern Ontario has made Toronto’s air the most toxic in the world at the moment. Due to this smoke, the color of the sky has turned yellow in many cities of North-Eastern America.

The color of the sky in Canada’s largest city Toronto has turned into a strange and sickening yellow. After this, Swiss technology company IQAir, which monitors global air quality, declared it the worst air in the world, after which Environment Canada has issued a health warning.

The city is currently in the grip of severe heat wave. The temperature in Toronto’s downtown area reached 37.3 degrees Celsius, breaking a three-decade-old record. At the same time, the temperature was recorded up to 55 degrees Celsius on the runway of the city’s main international airport. Due to this fire that broke out in North-Western Ontario, many natives were forced to leave their homes and go to safer places.

A heart-wrenching video of a train passing near the community of Armstrong (Ontario) has emerged, showing the speed and magnitude of the fire. In the video, a crew member of the train is saying in a frightened tone, ‘This fire can engulf us. The atmosphere has become a bit scary. After a short while, when the flames reach beyond the windows, he says, ‘We are completely surrounded by flames.’

However, railway company ‘Canadian National’ has confirmed that all the crew members were safely evacuated from the area. Other pictures and videos emerging on social media are also quite disturbing, in which families are seen fleeing to save their lives in boats amidst heavy smoke. Photographer Nadia Quandibens shared her pain on social media, writing, “My family’s hometown, Collins Ontario, has been completely destroyed.’

Residents of the Namaygusisgagun First Nation said they barely had a few minutes to escape by crossing Collins Lake in the northwestern part of the province.

Sol Mamakwa, a member of the province’s New Democratic Party, expressed deep sorrow over the disaster, saying, ‘What we are seeing right now is heartbreaking. This disaster has wiped out an entire First Nation community. Given the way forest fires in northern areas are closing highways and endangering settlements, we appeal to everyone to follow the instructions of emergency authorities and be prepared to evacuate immediately if necessary.

The area’s provincial representative, Lise Vogis, said, ‘Collins is completely burnt to ashes. This is a huge tragedy, but we are thankful that everyone got out safely. He further said, ‘Fires in the forests are a part of the natural cycle, but the record-breaking temperatures and terrible weather patterns we are seeing across the country are a direct indication of climate change.’

According to a CNN report, due to this smoke, an air quality alert has been issued in large parts of America’s Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. It is feared that by the end of the week this dense smoke will engulf New York, Washington and other cities on the East Coast.
